  • Adoption fee for a dog is $100 and for a cat is $50 (cash or check, non-refundable). Fee includes spay/neuter surgery, first vaccines including Rabies, worming, flea treatment and for dogs a microchip. All animals are spayed/neutered when old enough.
  • Dogs can be adopted out of state with the proper identification required (see below), unless they have not been spayed/neutered, in which case they are restricted to residents of Mason and adjacent counties (Mason, Cabell, Putnam, Jackson County). West Virginia law requires that all dogs and cats adopted from the animal shelter are spayed/neutered.
